Marcus is my homebrew attempt at an over-scaled, highly durable recon rover, inspired by the parts and construction methods deployed in the FTC robotics projects I help with at Marlborough.
Marcus was designed entirely in Onshape, then recreated in the real world using all manual methods, a unique challenge that avoids digital tools or CNC out of lack of availability. I designed Marcus to channel the looks of the Packbot, and Curiosity rovers, then used Onshape the create lightened aluminum panels for a relatively simple construction. I designed the robot to be powered by four high torque GoBilda Saturn motors.
